For the 2009-2010 funding year, NAN/IIHCP have 2 funding programs available to the NAN First Nations communities:
This year FNIH/NAN/IIHCP will once again allocate funding to the NAN communities through an application process similar to last year:
1. The NAN Health Careers Day Grant Program - will be another opportunity for up to 10 (ten) NAN First Nations communities to receive a $1,000 grant to coordinate and offer a one day health careers promotion event in their communities.

Application deadlines are to be received no later than Thursday, October 1, 2009. The completion date for the events that are being held in the communities will be Monday, March 1, 2010. A final report will be required no later than 2 weeks following the event. Applications are available on line for your convenience. All applications will be reviewed and selected by a selection committee as NAN. Applicants will be notified no later than Friday, October, 30, 2009 if they are selected. Because these projects are funded by Health Canada - First Nations and Inuit Health, Ontario Region, all grants are conditional upon receipt of funding.

2. The NAN Health Careers Project Grants - are being offered through an application process in which NAN/IIHCP will give up to 7 NAN communities, Tribal Councils, affiliated organizations and secondary schools that serve NAN students, the opportunity to receive a $5,000 project grant to plan and implement health careers in their communities by means of health career days, promotional items, workshops, health career camps while staying focused on the importance of health careers and retention.
