A chiropractor is a health professional who can diagnose, treat and help with mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and how it affects general health. The chiropractor does manual treatments which include spinal manipulation and adjustments.
Duties of a Chiropractor:
- Diagnose health problems by charting patient health and medical histories
- Observe and exam patients
- Interpret x-rays
- Recommend course of treatment to patients
- Treat patients through adjustments and exercise
- Advise patients of lifestyle and dietary recommendations that may be necessary
- Refer to other health professionals when needed

Chiropractors require upper body strength to perform specific procedures and to assist in the movement of their patients. Chiropractors stand for most of their working day.

Job placement – after 7-8 years of post-secondary education your chances of finding a job are considered - Good
The employment turnover is expected to increase as the baby boomers retire in the next five to ten years. The demand for chiropractors is greater in towns and rural areas.
